1. Meet the animals at the Pinke-Panke children's farm
📍 Am Bürgerpark 15–18, Pankow
The Pinke-Panke children's farm is one of the district's special family spots.
This educationally supervised children's farm is aimed particularly at school-age children. Alongside spending time with animals, nature, hands-on activities and shared discovery are all part of the concept. Berlin.de lists Pinke-Panke as an offer especially for children between seven and 14 years old.

This combination is especially nice for families: discover the animals first, then carry on towards Bürgerpark.

2. Spend an afternoon in Bürgerpark Pankow
📍 Pankow
Bürgerpark Pankow sits right next to Pinke-Panke.
That makes it easy to combine both spots into one longer family outing.
Pack some snacks, stroll through the park and give the children time to explore their surroundings. Especially in good weather, you often don't need a fully planned programme at all.

3. Climb, discover and get creative at the MACHmit! Museum
📍 Senefelderstraße 5/6, Prenzlauer Berg
The MACHmit! Museum is a museum where children are explicitly meant to get hands-on themselves.
The current exhibition includes a large, winding climbing structure and various workbenches. The museum's offers are aimed at children and families; group activities are designed for children aged roughly two to twelve.
Especially interesting for families from the district: on the first Wednesday of the month, admission is free for children from Pankow.
That makes the MACHmit! Museum a good option for a rainy day too.

4. Discover books and more at the Library at the Wasserturm
📍 Prenzlauer Allee 227–228, Prenzlauer Berg
Libraries are one of those family spots that's easy to forget when planning free time.
The Library at the Wasserturm has its own children's library and sits inside the Sebastian Haffner culture and education centre. It's currently even accessible Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10pm, though the regular staffed service is only available at certain times.

The Botanical Volkspark Blankenfelde-Pankow combines nature, large green spaces and unusual plant life, and is perfect for a relaxed family outing.

Pankow has countless playgrounds, and especially with younger children it can be enough to deliberately not head to the usual playground around the corner for once.
