Little witches, friendly ghosts, pumpkins and plenty of sweets: in 2026, Halloween with kids in Berlin falls conveniently on a Saturday, 31 October.

Around Halloween, Berlin has family parties, spooky worlds, theatre and plenty of ways to put together your own little Halloween outing. Some events even run throughout the whole of the autumn half-term, from 19 to 31 October 2026.

Here's our selection for Halloween 2026 with kids in Berlin – from bigger family events to simple ideas you can put together on the spur of the moment.

1. GeisterGala at FEZ-Berlin

One of the biggest Halloween events for families already announced for 2026 is taking place at FEZ-Berlin.

At the GeisterGala, the whole building turns into a Halloween world with theatre, dance, music, comedy, live performances and various surprises.

There's also a costume show and costume ball, a ride through the darkness on the narrow-gauge railway, and various spooky encounters around the building. Costumes are explicitly encouraged.

💰 Admission: €8 per person; €6.50 per person for two or more.

Good for: families with children aged about 7 and up who want to get properly into the Halloween spirit.

2. Geisterwelten at the FEZ – Halloween before 31 October too

Can't make it on 31 October?

Then you can visit the Geisterwelten at the FEZ already during the autumn half-term.

Enchanted rooms, mysterious mazes and dark cellars form one big spooky world. Children can solve puzzles and experience interactive installations, theatre, ghost trains and escape-room elements.

Particularly intense parts of the experience are marked on site, so families can better judge what will suit their children.

💰 Regular price €6.50 per person, or €5 per person for two or more.

Good for: families who'd rather celebrate Halloween flexibly at some point during the holidays.

3. Kids' Halloween at the Loci Loft

If you want less scares and more party, take a look at Kids' Halloween 2026 at the Loci Loft.

Planned activities include a children's disco with a DJ, Halloween games, entertainers, bubbles, sweets and a candy shower.

The event finishes as early as 6pm, so families can still head out around the neighbourhood afterwards for some trick-or-treating.

💰 Tickets are currently available from €3.

Good for: children who'd rather dance and play than get properly scared.

4. Trick-or-treating in your own neighbourhood

You don't necessarily need a ticket for a big Halloween event.

Dress up and take a little walk around your neighbourhood in the early evening.

Especially with younger children, I wouldn't try to knock on as many doors as possible. A short round with a few lovely encounters can be entirely enough.

Tip: not every front door takes part in Halloween. Lit or decorated entrances are often a better bet – and, of course, a “no” should always be respected.

5. Set up a Halloween treasure hunt

A good alternative to classic trick-or-treating is running your own treasure hunt.

Hide a few small clues at home or outside:

🎃 Look wherever the pumpkin is glowing.

👻 The next ghost is hiding somewhere especially cold.

With older children, you can turn this into a proper puzzle mission.

6. Carving pumpkins

The Halloween classic works just as well without any event.

Give each family member their own pumpkin, or design one big one together.

It doesn't always have to be the typical scary face:

With younger children, you could paint the pumpkins instead of letting them cut anything themselves.

And the pumpkin flesh can then become pumpkin soup or roasted pumpkin.

7. Throw a Halloween party at home

Especially for younger children, a small celebration at home can be more relaxed than a big Halloween event.

You don't need much for it:

🍿 snacks
🧙 costumes
🎲 two or three games

One simple game:

Mummy challenge

Form teams and wrap one person in each team in toilet paper to make a “mummy”.

Who makes the best mummy?

Or hold a little costume fashion show where every costume wins its own fun category, rather than pitting children against each other.

8. Halloween movie night

For families for whom a Halloween party is too much, a cosy movie night works just as well.

Darken the living room, set out a few LED candles, make some popcorn and choose a Halloween or spooky film that suits your children's age.

Especially with younger children, I'd go for funny-spooky rather than genuinely scary films.

Not every child finds ghosts, darkness and scary masks fun.

With babies and toddlers, I'd therefore make Halloween a lot more relaxed.

For example:

🍂 going for an autumn walk
👻 crafting friendly ghosts
🧙 dressing up at home
📚 reading a Halloween story
🍪 baking Halloween biscuits
🕯️ a short trick-or-treat round

The FEZ, for example, only recommends its Geisterwelten from age seven upwards. That's a good example of why you should always check the age recommendation for Halloween events.

Halloween with older children

With primary-school children and teenagers, things can perhaps get a bit scarier.

Then you could, for example:

🎭 attend a Halloween event
🔦 go on a night walk
🎬 hold a slightly scarier movie night
🕵️ organise a more elaborate Halloween puzzle hunt

Especially with escape rooms, horror events and films, you should still pay attention to the relevant age recommendations.

Halloween in the rain

Bad weather is quite possible in Berlin at the end of October.

In that case, I'd have a plan B ready:

Kids' Halloween party → dancing and playing
Halloween cinema → cosy at home
Carving pumpkins → getting creative
Halloween baking → making something tasty together
Treasure hunt at home → turning your flat into a little haunted house

That way Halloween doesn't depend on whether the weather plays along.

Halloween and the Berlin autumn half-term 2026

In 2026, Halloween falls right on the last Saturday of the Berlin autumn half-term. The holidays run from 19 to 31 October 2026.

That means you can plan Halloween as the grand finale of the holidays.

The Geisterwelten at the FEZ, for example, already run from 17 October and continue until 1 November.
